Measuring guide

Check each end separately: the speedometer and drive unit connections may differ.

01 · Threads: diameter and pitch

  1. Measure the external male thread on the instrument or drive unit with a caliper, across the thread crests. Do not measure the cable nut.
  2. Check the pitch with a thread gauge. The pitch is the distance between two consecutive crests. A matching gauge must fit without gaps.
  3. Record both diameter and pitch for each end. Diameter alone does not identify a thread. In the menu, 100 means 1.00 mm pitch, 75 means 0.75 mm and 150 means 1.50 mm.

If you only have the female cable nut or cannot identify the pitch, send photographs and measurements before ordering. Never force a thread to test it.

02 · Outer casing length

  1. Use the outer casing as the reference. Measure from the end of one metal ferrule to the end of the other, where the threaded nuts seat. Do not include the protruding inner cable.
  2. Support the casing and follow its route with a flexible tape without stretching, sharp bends or tension.
  3. Enter centimetres: 1200 mm = 120 cm. The configurator accepts whole centimetres and one decimal place. Allowed length: 1–400 cm.

If you no longer have the original casing, contact us to establish the route and required length.

03 · Square drives

Measure across two opposite flat faces of the square drive with a caliper, not diagonally. Check each end separately. The available sizes, 1.9, 2.5 and 3.2 mm, are the length of each side of the square, not its diameter.
